In four weeks, my husband and I thoughtfully planned an intimate wedding day filled with our favorite people and things: lots of flowers, southern barbecue, doughnuts, twinkling lights, backyard games, and a Spotify playlist hooked up to a stereo.

When the day came, we exchanged vows in front of our closest friends and family under the hot July sun in a small backyard in North Carolina. The simplicity of our day made space for our celebration to reflect us. Instead of worrying about others or endless details, I got to focus on the one thing I’d been dreaming of, becoming a wife to the man I had prayed for.

The one detail of the day that meant the most was my bridal bouquet — I had reached out to a local florist with dreams of a beautiful bundle to hold. Sadly, my experience included flowers that were not suitable for a wedding day. I gathered what we had at the airbnb and right then, made my first ever bouquet. Now, each bridal bouquet I design I keep that story in mind — I want for you what I didn’t have. A thoughtfully designed bouquet that makes you feel seen and celebrated. One that makes you jump with joy.
